Red Hot Rory in Westchester (updated)

"I don't really like the guy, but I've got to say he played well yesterday and the drink is wicked".

That's what Bo from Ft.Worth wrote when he submitted this recipe earlier today. "It's sort of like a Red Hot Rita. But I added a can of Loud Energy Drink for Rory's loud mouth"

Well lots of folks don't like "Rory's loud mouth" but there's no denying his skill. The brash, outspoken South African emerged as the first-round leader yesterday at The Barclays.

So, Thanks Bo, and here's the Red Hot Rory...in all it's glory. The perfect example of a Fedex Cup Cocktail.

RED HOT RORY

Ingredients:

A couple of lime wedges
1 12 oz. can of Loud Energy Citrus Stunner
1 1/2 ounces (3 tablespoons) tequila
1 ounce ( 2 tablespoons) triple sec
1 ounce (2 tablespoons) freshly squeezed lime juice
1 1/2 tsp. superfine or bar sugar
1/2 tsp. Hot Sauce

Directions:
1. Rub the rim of margarita glass or large martini glass with a lime wedge. Place some superfine sugar in a small shallow plate and dip the glass rim in the sugar to coat the edge.
2. Fill a cocktail shaker half-full with cracked ice. Add ingredients
3. Shake well and strain into glass; garnish with a lime wedge

Update: Second round is underway and K.J.Choi is currently on top. Anyone have a good K.J. cocktail recipe?

  1. Yep, Rory resides here in the Dallas area. I met him at a charity outing...he is a good guy...he is like all of the other tour pros who are just tired of the press showing attention only to Tiger and not really being interested in the other players...Rory is not alone, just the only one saying what the others feel...

I think that if you added a Miller Lite Back to the Red Hot Rory then it would fit Rory.

  2. Rory still has a chance, better him than Steve Stricker. That would be a boring cocktail.

  3. Hey come on with the Stricker so boring stuff. Have you ever hAd a Wisconsin Cherry Bounce? I'm doing my Stricker cocktail based on that...cause I say he wins The Barclays.
