The Double Life of A Golf Czar Porn Star

We've all heard tales of double lives; The mild mannered office clerk who robs banks on his lunch hour... or the preppy college student who moonlights as a call girl. These stories almost always end badly once the egregious alter ego is exposed.

And so it was recently for Garth Stirrat. Mr. Stirrat had been the CEO of the New Zealand PGA for six years, and as such presided over virtually all high profile golf activity in the beautiful island country. The dashing Kiwi was frequently photographed hob-nobing with the country's elite. That is, until some ...other... photos were discovered.

In late June it was announced that Garth Sirrat was stepping down from his position with the NZ PGA. The reason for his departure, supposedly, was that he was "seeking greener pastures". No further explanation was given, and by the end of August Mr. Sirrat had secured a position as head of the New Zealand Hotel Council. And that's when it all came down.

It seems someone on the Hotel Council board was doing a bit of ...um, research... in an ultra salacious, X-rated magazine, and discovered a six page photo spread featuring the former Golf Czar in... (gasp)... a "number of different positions". The Hotel Council executive who hired Mr. Sirrat called the photo spread... "disappointing".

I've heard porn called "disappointing" before, but I think it was for different reasons.

So Garth Stirrat resigned from his Hotel Council job barely a week into it. Had he not, most feel that he would have been fired for "bringing the organisation into disrepute."

It soon came out that during the time he was with the NZ PGA, Mr. Sirrat had also made an x-rated video, using the alias Steve Parnell. (Personally I think Garth Sirrat is a much better porn star name)

So once again a double life has resulted in disaster, and as will often be the case, a confused spouse was left wondering how this could have happened. Garth Sirrat's pretty blonde wife of only several months, has said she does not believe her husband was the person in those films, however, it's been reported that her Facebook relationship status has recently been changed to "complicated".

  1. Ummm??? This is hilarious! That's the first thought that came to my head! What a guy. What an idiot! So, uh, guess golfers are human (sic) after all??!! Thanks for sharing even the crazy things about golf that you run across!

  2. What a shame. Mr. 'Stir Rat' has a lot of explaining to do. Especially to his wife. It appears that he did this porn stuff 6 years ago when he was single, but that is something you probably should tell your wife just for this reason. Oops!

  3. They say your porn name would be the name of your first pet followed by the name of the street you first remember living on.

Mine would be "Rocket St. Catherine".

  4. lol - Bobbio - I couldn't use mine - it's already famous. I would be George Jefferson !!

I don't condemn people for being in the porn business - it's their life. I just wonder about the ones who think that this "lifestyle" won't catch up to them down the road and cost them plenty. I have talked to college girls who strip and think that it's "just a job" and it won't have any affect on their future career or the people they date/marry.

  5. Hello Rocket St. Catherine and George Jefferson, I'm Kukla North Ridge. LOL.

@Courtgolf worse than the "stripper college girls" are the "girls gone wild"...they don't even get paid, thus no "just a job" excuse. :o(

  6. Mr. Stirrat must have been awfully smart or awfully well connected to have gone right from one top level job to another...while moonlighting in the alltogether.

  7. blob-io

please change your picture. you are not cool anymore and the pix just emphasizes the nightmare that your life has become - fat, dorky and out of control.

your look is very out of touch v. your body shape and receding hair line. i can't decide if the sun glasses belong to your long lost 60's beach boy look or your not as long ago "flock of seagulls" impersonation- my guess is that you are more identified with "the flock" than w/ the 60's.

please be reasonable and stop showing us this lame ass photo in post after post on this blog. please, please, please

  10. It's amazing to me how often golf gets associated with sleazy behavior. Now we have this new Department of the Interior scandal that revolves around sex, drugs and golf.

It's funny that a sport with such pure, austere origins should go this way.

  11. Hellova' career change. I understand this is a news story but it always baffles me that people lose their job over things they did when they were younger.

Most of us would be fired from our current position if someone snooped hard enough...hell snooped at all.

I say Kudos to Mr. GolfPornoGuy! LOL

  12. It's all the metaphors Lisa, what other sport other than golf has: the holes, the balls, the threesomes/foursomes, the lies, the woods, the honey pot, the lip, the grip, the skins...? Only sex. ;)

  13. Where did that picture come from? Do you have a link to a full size version? That would make a great desktop background.

  14. What sucks is that it took so much digging to find the porn goods. If i decided to be a porn star i'd at least want to be on top of a google search!!!!

  15. Let me clear up some untruths.
In Nz the head of the PGA does not "preside" over the golfing world - that responsibility resides with the New Zealand Golf Association - similar to the USGA.
The PGA of New Zealand has a total of 365 members, and three fulltime staff - so please don;t make Mr Stirrat out to be bigger than he actually was.
Secondly - Mr Stirrat did not undertake his "porn" activity whilst employed by the PGA - it was prior to him commencing in that role - and any suggestion otherwise is defamatory.
Garth Stirrat did a great job for the members of the PGA of New Zealand - it is unfortunate that a weak and gutless Board Members of the PGA decided to use the gutter tabloid press of the country to destabilise his future.

  16. Its now just the first of Feb and I found out today from on old friend what has happen to Garth in the last few weeks.

At first there was a titilation factor of what had happened to an old school friend, but now there is anger and just how its all going down.

I don't think any reasonable adult can say they have not had some 'joy' factor from porn and to treat those who have been part of it as 'bad' is so wrong.

Let he/she who has not enjoyed moment of pleasure from that industry be the first who can actually throw the stones.

To the rest of us, lets take it as it is, grow up and say, hey good on you for being free enough with your life to share with others.

As to the hotel industry saying he might bring them into disrupute, this would be the same industry that will be providing said video on the adult channels that hotels provide.

Tell me I missed the irony?
