Not long ago, on a bright, blustery mid-October day, LPGA Champion Cristie Kerr hit the fairways of Liberty National Golf Course with a couple of decidedly exceptional playing partners. Australian megastar Kylie Minogue, and her Spanish boyfriend Andres Velencoso, an actor and model, were in New York for business - The pop princess did three extravagant shows at NY's Hammerstein Ballroom. But the thing is, both are really into golf, so a round at the breathtaking Liberty National course was THE perfect activity during their limited downtime.
This all came together... Cristie Kerr, Kylie Minogue and a beautiful October day at Liberty National... because of a shared love of golf. And also because Ms. Kerr is a breast cancer activist and Ms. Minogue, a breast cancer survivor. In 2005 Kylie Minogue was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent surgery and chemotherapy. She spoke about her battle with the disease openly, and the awareness this raised in many parts of the world has come to be known as the "Kylie Effect" and is thought to have influenced many women to havetheir yearly checks.

It's great to see Kylie Minogue finally getting known here in the US. I lived in Europe and Asia during the 90s and her popularity everywhere else is astounding. She's an amazing performer.
