Rickie Fowler & Ryo Ishikawa - Golf's Young Guns and Their Youthful Pebble Beach Style Statements ✂ ✂ ✂

.

When it comes to fairway fashion, some golf writers are just plain clueless. Otherwise why would they refer to Ryo Ishikawa and Rickie Fowler as "Gumby and Smurf"?

  1. Mr. Fowler is bluer than the smurf, but Mr. Ishikawa is not quite as green as Gumby.

Personally, it's a LOT of the same color for me. However, I love that they are wearing something different and fun.

In the end, their golf may standout more than outfits. Mr. Fowler is off to a solid start this season.

  2. I agree with Heather, on the "not as green as Gumby" and "the too much of one color". ;)

Didn't Sergio do that a few years ago, repeatedly, with yellow? I mean yellow, on yellow, on yellow. I have vague recollections of yellow abuse in his past. Now wears Adidas mainly in dark colors, and looks kind of boring. I guess he grew up.

  3. I remember that Sergio mess. That was his "canary eats banana" period and he took a lot of crap for it. Your right GG, these golf writers know nothing about fashion.

  4. What's wrong with these guys? Why would anyone wear something ridiculous like that? To get attention I guess and unfortunately it's working.

  5. So CUTE!!! Gumby was my favorite toy as a kid and my daughter collected Smurfs in the 80s. Whoda thought golf would ever bring back those memories.

  7. Sansabelts come in both of those colors. We need to get Rory McIlroy into a new line of clothing. Could you imagine those three in fluorescent colors shooting 29's on the back nine at Augusta..??

  9. I don't know - Fowler looks more like a maintenance worker who snuck onto the course in that picture. Looks more like a jump suit rather than shirt and pants. Might have to rethink that one.
