From high handicappers to scratch golfers, a first trip to Pebble often seems to transcend the sport. Breathtaking views and myriad glimpses of golf history erase the game's inherent frustrations.
Later this week I'll be heading west, as a guest of Lexus, to play at Pebble Beach for the first time and needless to say, I'm beyond... way beyond... delighted. I'll be there for the 25th Anniversary of the Lexus Champions for Charity Tournament, an event that's raised over 250 million dollars for charity through nationwide tournaments for amateur golfers that culminate in this grand finale at Pebble Beach.
Hundreds of golfers, from all over the country, will be there and I'm looking forward to meeting many of them. I also hope to have the opportunity to talk to some of the Lexus athletes, Annika Sorenstam and Natalie Gulbis among them. In addition to golf on three iconic courses -- Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill and Spanish Bay -- Lexus has organized culinary demonstrations, driving experiences and other activities that highlight the region's natural beauty and the company's commitment to local communities and children's charities.
I'll be posting here daily, tweeting with hashtag #lexusC4C, and sharing photos/video on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Google +. And probably elsewhere. In any case I'll keep you posted on what will surely be a golf dream come true... and a December to Remember.
