There's compelling evidence, from some very authoritative sources, that high risk behavior, whether it's gambling on a volatile stock market or going for that totally implausible golf shot, is a chemical thing. Yes, it seems that hormones such as Testosterone and Cortisol dictate our behavior...and our risk tolerance...much more than previously thought.

I just read your post on Golf for Women and while I do find it interesting I don't the the majority of male golfers react that way, at least the ones I know.

ReplyDeleteYou ladies are always finding ways to cut guys down and say were out of control. Meanwhile the LPGA can hardly get an audience.
ReplyDeleteI see...and nothing about how women get all excited watching the guys hit the big drive, or hit the home run, or make some big athletic play ??? (or a big money play like the stock brokers)
ReplyDeleteSure - guys SOMEtimes will show off for the girls - but in competition, it's all about the win. Women and sex come later.
The study was one sided - no big deal - they weren't concerned with women and their hormonal triggers and reactions - this one was all about the men. Women take different chances, or they may behave in a more submissive way when their hormones go nuts, and some guy sets them off.
The study was interesting - but really - did they actually learn anything new ? PUH-LEASE !! I just hope my tax dollars didn't go for some research geek to figure out that we men get goofy when a sexy woman is around.

In the study with the erotic pictures they wanted to have women participate but they couldn't find any sexual images that women responded to...Seriously. That what it said. I think they should have showed the women pictures of designer handbags or diamond rings if they wanted a response.
