Abu Dhabi Championship And Stellar Sergio Garcia

.

El Nino's all grown up now.

Oh, he's still demonstrative. That'll never change, but having recently celebrated his 30th birthday he must have felt like a wise elder-statesman next to Rory McIlroy yesterday in Abu Dhabi. They played the first round together and as Karl MacGinty tells it in his piece for the Belfast Telegraph, the round was enjoyed by all.
“It was awesome,” enthused Garcia, now 30, of an idyllic afternoon with McIlroy in the Arabian Desert. “It's good to have a chance to play with Rory. He's an unreal player, one whose name is going to be remembered in golf throughout the ages.”

Both players finished the first round with spectacular 66s one shot back from the leaders.

  1. I hope Patricia you're right with your feelings about Sergio's maturity.

As an spanish golf fan I'm willing to see Sergio again on the top and maybe this week he's making the first step in this way.

As we say in Spain, 'Ánimo Sergio!', that is like saying 'Go Sergio!'

PS: This is the first time I post something in the blog and I must say that the blog is awesome.

  3. He's just one off the lead at this point, Patricia. Hopefully Sergio's out of his funk now and we'll see him get one of the big ones this year.

  5. Jonesy,

    Wait 'til TXQ sees that.

Even Star Trek did not envision someone writing a golf column in one country and someone in another country replying to it. Hola, Juan. You sure picked a great blog to follow...
