Kraft Nabisco 2010 - Of Barbie Swings and Easter Balls

.

Suzanne P. went bogey free... and took the first round lead at The Kraft Nabisco Championship.

...And the first major of the season is underway for the Ladies of the LPGA Tour.

It hardly seems a year ago that Brittany Lincicome won in Rancho Mirage with that amazing final hole eagle, and if this year turns out to be even half as exciting as last year... it's going to be a fun weekend.

There are tons of awesome activities going on too. In addition to the Front Row Experience I told you about last week, there's the Barbie Junior Golf Clinic. Barbie and Brittany... you may have heard... are partners, and there'll be putting, chipping, and full swing stations set up for kids to work on their game. There'll also be lessons from the pros.

Then there's the Easter Ball Hunt on Sunday. 1500 golf balls are being provided for the hunt by Chromax, all of which will be donated to the First Tee of the Coachella Valley after the event.

The thing is, in addition to stellar golf, LPGA tournments are entertainment events... and the season's first major's got something for everyone.

  1. Have a feeling today was the beginning of a great season for you in many ways- the author part being the catalyst!!! Great start out West. I didn't pick a top ten. I only picked a top nine (must have gotten confused with National League Baseball.) Seven of my nine even par or better. Little disappointed with Thompson, but not really a bad rd. of +2. Only Christina had a tough day. She will bounce back tomw!

  4. The Chromax balls are perfect for Easter. How fun! They are actually great to play late in the fall when the leaves are on the ground because you can actually find them.

Can't wait to watch the tourney this weekend.Armchair Golf Blog has the TV schedule for those interested.

  6. Want to know why I enjoy watching the LPGA. TV on....click.....ESPN....Cristie Kerr hits shot....click.....oh-Kevin Stadler misses birdie putt.....click......Morgan Pressel hits shot......click......Stadler short putt -par......click......Suzann Petersen hits shot.

Not really knocking Kevin. Nice young chap- as is his Dad I'm sure. Of course Master next week is another world and I'm psyched. Seeing Phil "honing" his game was actually entertaining today.
