The 12th Hole at Augusta - An Impressive Display
They call it Golden Bell. The narrow green... protected by Rae's Creek in front and a cloud of bright pink azaleas behind... is incredibly beautiful. Ben Hogan Bridge leads to the cloistered corner and adds a mystical element.
It's no surprise that many artists have been inspired by the 12th hole. However the artist who created the above representation did so in a rather unique way... and it's quite impressive to watch. See for yourself.

As beautiful as it is, I find it hard to appreciate a place I'm not allowed to dream of playing because I golf in a skirt and swing a pink driver.
ReplyDeleteAlthough if you wear a visor and your driver has a pink shaft you're in
ReplyDeleteHey Kimmy, while it's true that women can't become members at Augusta National, they CAN play there. Most will never get the opportunity, but neither will most men. Man or Woman, to play there you just need to be the guest of a member. I don't happen to know any members so my chances of ever playing there are no greater than yours. And I've never once worn a skirt or swung a pink driver ;)
ReplyDeleteI've decided... that next guy I go out with is... going to have to be a member of Augusta National. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you Ash, no membership = dealbreaker ;)
ReplyDelete.
ReplyDeletethe real defense of that hole is PRESSURE
as in sunday leaderboard pressure
arnold P won his ONLY masters at that hole with a squirrley ruling
freddy C won his ONLY masters at that hole by a single blade of grass holding his ball from the water (that blade was subsequently cut down)
PRESSURE overcomes distance and accuracy
anyway be well

ReplyDeletecorrection
on the arnold P i meant his first which might also be incorrect but i meant to be dramatic using literary license rather than scholarly research
as an approaching senior, i'm allowed
