Indoor Golf - Turn Your Game Around in the Off Season

In this video I visit Golf Performance Center an awesome indoor golf practice and training center here in Danbury, CT.

The training technologies available at this friendly facility are state-of-the-art, and the gracious staff, clearly loves golf. They are dedicated to promoting the game and work extensively with Junior Golf and Girls Golf programs.

Indoor golf is a great way to work your game in the off season. It's becoming more and more popular across the USA... and around the world.

Growing and maintaining interest in golf, is going to be a real challenge during the next couple of years, as the economy struggles to regain its footing. Indoor golf can certainly help with this.

I'm looking forward to taking my game indoors at Golf Performance Center this winter, and according to the feedback I got on my initial visit. I've got lots to work on.

  1. Hello Patricia, I'm one of your Facebook Contact but you know me by my real name: François-Guillaume.

  2. I love those simulators. Hubbie and I played Riviera on one last winter. It was a blast. There is a place here that has several simulators and they serve beer! It's my favorite date night activity. I hope to write about it this winter.

Is it too much to ask for one for Christmas?

  3. The KVest is a very cool technology. The feedback you get is amazing. I saw my swing in a whole new light when I put it on and I literally saw where in needed to adjust imediately.

    Made a real difference.

  5. @Joseph LeMay, that it needed lots of work, bien sur :o)

But the great thing is that you do get that instant, very graphical feedback and can adjust accordingly. Then they work with you to get you comfortable with it. I've been amazed at how much it's helped. And as @Heather said the simulators are a blast! We're thinking of having a simulator party there sometime soon. We'll definitely let you know. :o)

  6. The new generation of simulators give many informations which are important for the golfer: spin, velocity of the ball, velocity of the swing,...

The golfer can have a big database to improve his play...

(Sorry for my english... I hope that it isnt too bad and that you understand what I say) ;o)

  7. Did I mention before that we play outdoor golf all 12 months here in Dallas? I think the local simulator place gets some business on rain days. But, of course, rain days are infrequent visitors to this part of Texas. So simulator golf would probably be a nighttime sport for me.

Texas Indoor Golf charges $20 for nine holes and $35 for eighteen ($40 on weekends). Does that sound reasonable? How long should I expect a nine hole simulator round to last?

  8. Looks like so great technology I wish we had something like that in our cold corner of the world. Your right that indoor golf could be a key piece to growing the game. I know lots of people who don't want to take it up because the season is too short or they start then don't start again after the long winter. If it could become more widespread and reasonable ($20 for nine holes sounds OK to me) it could help to grow golf.

  11. I got the link to your blog from Dave at The Orlando Golf Blogger. I like your site and I hope that it inspires more ladies to the game.

Living in a rural area in a small town makes getting to a simulator difficult. I think the closest one to my area is about an hour away. Maybe I'll get down there and check it out this winter.

    Shalom

  12. It has always been my experience that golf pros bend over backwards to help junior golfers. I benefited greatly from junior golf.

    Thanks,
