GGTV Episode IV - Dining with Greg Norman

On the menu for this episode is dinner at my house ...with Greg Norman wines and some of my favorite golf buddies... I'll also take you to some of the environmentally friendly courses in my area. Then, I've got a tip for how to look good on the golf course for less.

Recipe: Golf Girl's Lobster/Avocado Salad

Avocado Layer
two small haas avocados
1 tsp minced red onion
1/2 teaspoon Olive Oil
Salt & Pepper to taste
Tomato Salad - Grape Tomatoes and a pinch of ground parsley in vinaigrette of choice.

Lobster Layer
The meat of two small lobsters, chopped
2 teaspoons Fresh Lemon Juice
1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
2 teaspoons Fresh Lemon Juice
1 teaspoon Olive Oil
Salt & Pepper to taste

First make the avocado layer - just peel the avocados and remove their pits, then mash them with a fork adding lemon juice, olive oil and onions, mix well, add salt and pepper to taste.

Next is the Lobster salad - combine the lobster meat, lemon juice, and 1/2 Tbsp. olive oil. Add a half teaspoon of dijon mustard if you like. Mix well. Add fresh ground Salt and Pepper to taste.

Place a ring mold in center of one salad plate. Spoon 3-4 tablespoons of avocado mix in the bottom. Smooth it with the back of a spoon. Add an equal abount of lobster salad. Pack neatly on top of the avocado. Press down lightly on the lobster salad as you slide the mold up, leaving a layered stack in the middle of the plate.

spoon tomato salad around the stack and drizzle with vinaigrette. Repeat for second plate. Garnish with a bit of chopped parsley.

  1. Patricia... I always look forward to your GGTV but I was unable to view episode IV. I am wondering if you did something different this time around. I checked and can still view the other episodes but not the latest one.

  3. I didn't do anything different...I don't think. This episode does take a bit longer to load once you've clicked on it, because it's slightly longer. But it appears to be working now. Perhaps give it another try, and let me know if you still have a problem viewing it. Many thanks for watching.

  4. I love turtles. Do you know what differentiates the snapper from other types? Snapping turtles can't withdraw their heads into their bodies. Snapping is their only defense mechanism. I was at Richter the other day when a huge bull frog came hopping out.
I like the Adidas top best.

  8. Bravo Patricia….best so far!!!!!!!!
I loved the intimate setting for the dinner. I assume that was you at the head of the table --- exactly where you should be. The fashion show was also stunning with you modeling.

The closest I have ever had the opportunity to dine on lobster has been Louisiana crawfish (crayfish to you Yankees) or home-made turtle etouffee using a soft-shelled turtle I caught and a Cajun recipe. Perhaps you’ll air-freight some New England lobsters to this old man for him to enjoy before I start pushing up daisies? :-)

  10. I can't view the episode either.

BTW, the blonde in the golf cart seems to be hot. Who is that?

  11. Hmmm, I'm not sure what's going on with those who can't view the video. I posted it just like the others. I'm looking into it and will try to figure it out. What happens exactly, if I might ask? It just doesn't play?

  12. Amazing Show!!! Liked the way you put the dinner footage together..you can't really have movie lights at a dinner party so that must have been hard to film. Always like the outdoor stuff. That swing you took didn't look THAT bad. Guess ot went in the woods though.

  13. That recipe sound really easy but it looks fantastic. You have to do it at the last minute though right? That might be hard if you've had a long cocktail hour. /:o~

  14. The courses are stunning really makes me miss New England in Autumn. FL has great winters, but it's a heck of a lot flatter.

  15. Nice episode. Why don't you push the envelope next week and go topless with your blond friend, Ms. Hottie.

  16. you still sound like you have marbles in your mouth but the dinner party looked like fun. btw, why did you have the camera on the bald guy for sooooo long?

my advice is to stay with quirky content - gg is at her best when she is quirky - quirky clothing styles, quirky golf gear, quirky golf tips, quirky places to go to play golf... do you feel me? - and please leave the bald guys out!!!

  17. Love the episodes so far! But just an FYI. Noticed your lighting is pretty poor. If you want to lighten it up there is a cost effective way -- in other words CHEAP thing you can do. Try indirect lighting. Buy several aluminum workshop lights around 60W will do; get the ones with clamps. You can then clamp them to other light poles or furniture and position the light best. Get the cool white variety of bulbs they tend to have softer full spectrum light. If you have one of those silver car shades that folks use to reflect the sun from their front windscreen use that to reflect light onto your face. So point the light away from you and use the reflecting surface of the sun shade to put light back on you. If you get a few more of them you can direct the light so it covers up the shadows (especially under a hat) and removes the dark look and feel. Only one problem... those lights get hot. Hope that helps so we can better see you in your next episode.

  18. Love your episodes so far. Just one comment and please don't take it the wrong way. But you need better lighting. I think the best lighting for you would be indirect and you can do it cheaply. Get a several workshop lamps with clamps, cool white 60w bulbs for full spectrum light, and a few silver sun shades for a car's front windscreen. Place the light pointing away from you. clamp them into place. Then using the refelcting portion of the sun shade reflect the light back on you. It will remove the shadows, especially underneath your hat. In daylight use the reflecting side to focus light back onto your face. Only one problem is those lights get hot! Good luck and hope to see you in all your well lit glory :D
