A Challenge for Golf Blogger Guys

Hey guys.... I know you're out there.

After all, I read you every day, and look forward to your prolific posts on everything from the PGA to the pace of play...the latest drivers to golf survivors.

The thing is though, I'd love to know a little bit more about you. You as in you. I'm talking about your personality and personal style. How you came to be a golf blogger and what keeps you writing about golf. Yeah, that kind of thing. I mean, I already know that Andrew from Oobgolf has a thing for Paula Creamer and Mr. Business Golf does not appreciate retro style statements and World Golf's Cheap Bastard has expensive tastes... but I want more. And I'm not the only one.

There's a challenge out there for you... from none other than beautiful, multi-talented golf personality, Stina Sternberg. She blogs too BTW, at Golf For Women where she's a Sr. Editor, and she wants to hear from you...,golf bloggers and forum posters alike.

So, drop her a line, with photo if possible. And show us what you're all about. We're curious.

  1. Seems to me that it is more of a challenge to the equipment freaks on forums like bombsquadgolf...when did the term forum poster and blogger get confused?

  2. Bloggers...forum posters...I'm curious abt both. :) I think Stina is too.

  3. I've noticed that lots of golf bloggers are forum posters as well. So as far as "terminology" is concerned there is definitely some overlap. I want to know more too. I'm addicted to golf bloggers.

  4. It looks to me that Stina is looking more to hear from the Bloggers who write on Golf Equipment and not on the bloggers who blog about golf.

So which track are you taking...the Famous person Blogging track or the Blogger wanting to become Famous?

  5. The so called "equipment freaks" may have been her main goal but knowing Stina, I think she'd love to hear from dedicated golf bloggers too.

As far as the track I'm taking... which ever gets me there faster I guess. :)

  6. Well, I certainly would certainly think The Deep Rough is pretty heavily focused on 'equipment'..at least lately. But her post, I do not believe, is directed at blogs like mine. She is talking about these guys on forums that go on and on about the merits of a $1500 Matrix Ozik shaft over a Aldila Proto By You. The 'fanboy' discussions regarding these things get pretty heated to the point where you think you are watching two prepubescent boys fight in the basement ;)

I posted up a link to her blog post in a new thread on bombsquad, and well, it was deleted within an hour. Not sure why, or what was said, but I am guessing people went off on her!

  7. I dunno I think most golf equipment/golf blogger guys won't want to reveal too much to you gals...it maybe too intimidating.

  8. Yes Stina was very strict on Fore Inventor Only show - like Simon Cowl on steroids strict.

  10. WOW ! Hey guys, could we be THIS lucky to have GG and SS (two VERY hot ladies who also love golf - is there a better combination ??) turning Yenta ?? Wahoo !! Imagine their friends !! :-D

Come on GG - we guys write/blog about golf the same way we are about most things - we're more interested in the game and the toys FOR the game than if Ralph is wearing the latest Greg Norman shirts and pants, if they are properly matched and accessorized.

It's not that it's intimidating for us to talk about ourselves, we just don't do it like you women, so we're not as good at it.

(personally, my Brad Pitt looks, Michael Jordan bank account, and Tiger Woods golf game can be a bit overwhelming --- or is it my Steve Lowery looks, Joe the street guy bank account, and Murray the one legged, one armed man golf game that are so UNDERwhelming ? I get confused) :-)

  11. Well - I just had a minute to read Stina's "invitation" to male bloggers. To be honest, she did not come across as open, welcoming, and interested. She sounded more like the popular chick at the bar who sits with her friends pointing fingers at those "beneath" her.

If she was hoping to get serious and friendly information from guys who have a serious Jones for golf technology - she won't get much with that post. All she did was tick a bunch of people off and probably hurt more than a few feelings.

Nobody likes condescending words spewed at them. What she wrote sounds like an invitation to an ambush so her "popular" friends can laugh and make fun.

Oh - and the word is Uppity - not Uppety. An editor should know better.

  12. Your girl Stina always seemed a little uptight to me. Kinda reminds me of Cloris Leachman's younger sister. Young Frankenstein era.
I went to the link you gave. Poor thing's getting barbequed in comments.

  13. GG,

Maybe Stina needs to get out from GFM for a while and do some social media like the rest of guys who blog. She is asking to hear from us, we would like to hear from her. Then maybe we will comment on her site. I think she and her magazine would be better accepted by the men golfers who blog if she ventured out into cyberspace.
