The Travelers Championship - First Round

.

Perfect weather... a beautiful venue... lots of entertainment. The Travelers Championship.

A number of interesting style statements too.

I'm still in the Media Center at TPC River Highlands, thus will continue this post later.

BTW, the practice green is a great place... to chill.

  1. I presume that guy in the yellow shirt replaced his derriere divot.

  2. That putt breaks from left patella to right patella.

Hey, I'm just patelling it like it is.

Chill a few beers and you've got Tavern on the Green.

  5. Hey golfgirl, I am sooooo jealous! Good luck to Kenny, he was my hero last year and it broke my heart to see him blow the Masters!

  7. What is the guy on? At this age, most golfers would be humbly retiring from professional golf but Kenny Perry seems to have found the best golf of his life and he is making full use of it, that is if you excuse those two bogeys at the Masters. And a 59 was such a great possibility but I don’t think its happening although Perry thinks otherwise. Good to see Greg Chalmers near the top of the leaderboard. The Aussie is a doughty player and I hope he can finish well this week.

Talking about the practice green, I couldn’t agree with you more. In my opinion it is probably the best place to observe a player. Once on the course, their mood, actions and behaviour pretty much mirrors the kind of shot they play but at the practice green, and perhaps even the driving range, it is fun to see how they get into tournament focus mode and also good to see banter that goes on.

I hope it doesn’t rain anymore out there and you get to see a fantastic finish to this tournament and just in case you do manage to spot a 59, we would love to hear to break the round hole by hole out here!!
