Angel Cabrera's Amazing Race Ends in Castellon DQ

.

Having finished second in Bermuda, at the PGA Grand Slam, Angel Cabrera was headed directly for Spain on Wednesday ... and everything needed to be perfectly planned out. Angel was racing across the Atlantic to play in the Castello Masters. His tee time was late so he'd make it. Or so he thought.

Ultimately
, wind and weather got in the way, flights were delayed. His group teed off without him... only to be stopped after one hole. Isn't it ironic.

  1. Cabrera made enough money in the GSOG to pay for 10 private charters to Spain.

He should be DQ'd from his next five tournaments for being like fellow Argentinian golfer, Roberto De Vicenzo. Stupid

  2. Angel Cabrera was competing at the Castello Masters as a favor for Sergio and Victor Garcia.

He's an old school dude from a dirt poor background, not a spoiled kid who thinks he's a rock star like Adam Scott, Poulter or Justin Rose. It was a highly unusual series of unexpected weather events that led to his missing the tee time.

To call him stupid is just wrong. It's too bad we don't have more like Senor Cabrera.

  4. Angel is so unique. He seems like an old fashioned golfer from the 1950s, when they used to make more normal amounts of money. That's so cool.

  5. That's a definite bummer for Mr. Cabrera and the gallery.

It would have been nice if there had been a way to make it work, but ultimately the rules have to be the same for everyone.

I've been in dinky tourneys where traffic delays etc. have also resulted in golfers being DQ'd. I guess it's just part of golf. I admire him for trying to make it.

  6. To say that Rose is a spoiled kid is ridiculous. I have first hand accounts from more than one person who say he's a decent down to earth guy. You're probably right about Poulter but not Rose.
