Madrid Masters - Sergio Slippage & Ross McGowan's 60

.
Today's two eagles and 10 birdies may well lead little known Ross McGowan to his maiden victory on the European Tour.

The portly Englishman, who played collegiate golf at the University of Tennessee, now holds an impressive seven stroke lead going into the final round. ~ Meanwhile, a back nine bogey-blitz sent Señor Garcia tumbling down the leaderboard into an inauspicious tie for ninth place. ~ “A partir del hoyo 10, no me ha salido nada.” Sergio explained, which, roughly translated means... "from 10 on, everything went down the toilet"... and the four bogies he carded on the final seven holes testify to that statement's accuracy.

The Spanish champion went on to say
how great it was to see that so many golf fans had come out and congratulated Mr. McGowan on his stellar third round 60. He also commended countrymen Miguel Angel Jimenez and Alvaro Quiros on their bogey-free, third round 66s.

Though things look pretty predictable from here Sunday surprises have been known to happen.

  1. Oh noooo, I was afraid that would happen. Maybe we shouldn't talk about Sergio any more before he wins. ;-)

  2. I agree with the guy who said Sergio thinks too much.
