Zo's Million Dollar Shootout - 1 Day, 1 Shot, 1 Million

OK, How could this be anything but awesome? By being beyond awesome. ~ That would be my only guess.

Zo's Million Dollar Shootout will take place on August 16 and it'll certainly be wonderful, because when it comes to hosting charity golf tournaments, Alonzo Mourning is as good as it gets.

The seven-time NBA All-Star hosts several such events each year benefiting his Alonzo Mourning Charities. A passion for educating and empowering kids in need is what drives him... and it's the mission of AM Charities.

The venue for Zo's Million Dollar Shootout is Trump National, Westchester County, in Briarcliff Manor, NY. I've had the pleasure of playing there, and everything about it is... well, magnificent... with a bit of breathtaking on the side.  I played there in the fall, a couple of years ago, and it remains one of my favorite golf memories.

The chance to win a million dollars in a shootout makes this event particularly exciting, and there'll be numerous celebrities and sports stars in attendance. An exceptional dinner and live auction will follow the tournament. The day will definitely be awesome.

  3. I'm not sure I could compete on the golf course with the NBA and NFL guys, but I'd love to go to the party.

  6. .

well times have changed since i last played that golf course

trump was still in school and, unless they were there to caddie, most of these stars and celebrities wouldn't have been allowed on

FWIW - zoe does put on a great show and has for many years down here at his summer groove

i saw scottie last week to ask him about selling his home here on del lago and he is in chicago accepting entry into the NBA hall-of-fame

    anyway be well

Wow, that's putting your money where your mouth is. Terrific way to guarantee participation and raise money to help kids. Win/win/win!

  8. Standing on a golf course
    Dressed in P.V.C.
I chanced upon a Golf Girl
    Selling cups of tea
She asked me did I want one
    Asked me with a grin
For three pence you can buy one
    Full right to the brim

So of course I had to have one
    In fact I ordered three
So I could watch the Golf Girl
    Could see she fancied me
And later on the golf course
    After drinking tea
    It started raining golf balls
    And she protected me

    Her name was Pat
And we sat under a tree
    She kissed me
    We go for walks
    In fine weather
    All together
    On the golf course
    We talk in morse

  10. It's good to see some NBA & NFL millionaires giving back. Maybe some of the overpaid golfers should host a basketball tournament. On second thought, that probably wouldn't be a very good idea.
