It's an odd little instrument... and I'm not really sure what it does... so it may not be worthy of the prestigious Golf Gadget of the Month designation.
From what I can see, though, this rare vintage "New Haven Golf Meter" measures yards and miles. I don't not know how it works.... or... if it works, but it looks like a pretty awesome collector's item to me.
If anyone reading has used a Golf-O-Meter, I'd love to know more about it. It might just help me to take my game to the next level this year.
Or not.

ReplyDeleteit's a ped-o-meter
hook it on your belt, at your hip, and start walking
meanwhile, el tigre is in town, and flirting with the so-be crowd, sporting a fu-man-chu and hanging with lebron & co of the not-so-hot heat
checking into doral, my preference is biltmore, but a DUI cost to much
if it stays windy, the scores will balloon on the blue monster but the beer is cold
cheers !

So it's something that was used by caddies? And how did it detect movement?
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you're in for a fun time, Frank - expecting a Tiger sighting report soon.
ReplyDeleteOh, that doesn't sound like it'll help my game much. I don't know what kind of magical powers I thought it would have, a friend of mine sells antiques and collectibles and there was one among the items in an estate lot she's selling. She gave me first dibs, but I think I'll pass. ;) Have fun at Doral Frank.
ReplyDelete.
ReplyDelete12:54EST tiger and phil
game on !
in FT L - it's a mixed bag with the weather - lotta heavy rain clouds with periodic breaks of bright sunshine and increased humidity with winds in from the WEST (not typical)
gin in the freezer - check
red wine decanted - check
shrimp on ice - check
cuban cigars - check
remind me, again, why did i ever live in NY during March ?
cheers !

ReplyDeleteas was circulated on the course, many commented that miami was famous for it's blow jobs, so it was no surprise when scoreboards and TV towers blew down
as is also the case, afterwards, the weather settled into a calm, but the eventual darkness halted play for much of the field
today is COLD with bright sunshine so yesterdays delays could be made up today, and the second round completed as well
