PGA Tour Wives -Taking Questions, Making Smoothies And Giving Back

As striking as most of them are,  PGA Tour wives tend to stay somewhat under the radar.   Though they're frequently present when their husbands are playing, we rarely catch more than a glimpse of these rarified partners.

As the 2014 golf season gets underway though, there's Yaponit, a new event-based question and answer platform that'll be giving fans and followers the opportunity to ask questions of some of those mysterious PGA Tour wives, through a series of events over the coming months. The series starts tomorrow with Amy Wilson, current PTWA president and wife of Mark Wilson. The event page has all the details on how to submit questions and vote on the best ones... and when to listen to the answers.

One thing we know already... with the Humana Challenge taking place this week... is that the PGA Tour Wives Association will be the scene in La Quinta. And rumor has it that the wives will be holding a Smoothie Challenge for middle school children where they'll compete to create the most spectacular smoothie.

Charity... and particularly assistance to needy children... is a basis of the  PGA Tour Wives Association mission.  By the time the end of the season rolls around we'll undoubtedly know a lot more about what they're doing.

  1. It'll be interesting to see how Paulina Gretzky and Caroline Wozniacki handle the role of a tour wife. I don't see either of them playing supportive spouse any time in the near future.
