Golfers Don't Like "Old" Caddies

...At least not at certain suburban country clubs in South Korea. And BTW, "old" begins at about 35. Most caddies in South Korea are female and once they've reached the age of the average Desperate Housewife they're being forced into retirement. According to this story that appeared over the weekend in The Hankyoreh, an independent Korean newspaper, some have gone so far as to plead their cases with the National Human rights Commission in Seoul. Additionally, activists have called the screening out of caddies beyond a certain age tantamount to treating these women as no more than "sex objects." However as long as the clubs are private and the paying customers are getting their inspiration from popular online caddy sites, I don't think the "aged caddies" will be getting their jobs back.

  1. Isn't this about PAR for Korea's culture? (The pun was intended)

  2. Old or not, one might want to avoid the one that's taking a nap ;)

  3. I'd ask for another group of at least 5 to pick from :)!

  4. Why would someone in their 30's want to be a Caddy anyway? It must pay fairly well over there.
