I Hate it When Golf Blogs Talk Football...

...So I won't. Not here, anyway.

Even though the game last night was rather exciting and somewhat... lucrative... this here is a golf blog, and I'm inclined to agree with WorldGolf's Brandon Tucker; ~ Rory McIlroy's struggle to victory in Dubai yesterday was the must see nail-biter of the weekend.

However, Super Bowl XLIII was pretty stellar and we made it more so with a Tequila Cocktail Contest. And I did, in fact, write about the whole thing, and I posted it too. Over at Cocktail Match, where else?

  2. Yesterday during the game someone kept making Colorado Bulldogs, which I normally know better than to drink, but I did it anyway. Today, I feel like my head is a big fat pumpkin...

Still, the game was great. There were sonething like 40 of us watching the golf tournament until the big game started.

  5. Here's the best tequila recipe I ever found. Get one shot glass of tequila. The better the tequila the better the drink. In a cold aluminum mixing bool place a spoon of sugar, two blueberries, a dab of butter and a dab of shortening, a pearl onion, 1/4 cup of finely chopped ice, a small sweet pickle (chopped). Mix them all together in the bowl, throw the whole mess in the garbage and down the tequila shot. The best!

  6. You're right. There's is a trend around at the moment of adding non-golf related posts to some golf blogs out there. Glad to see the highly respected Golf Girl Diary has taken a stand!

  7. If the game sucked, which it didn't, I could see why everyone would make a stink.

And I'll give all of you nay-sayers this. The NFL's whole hoopla-hype 'Go America' thing makes me cringe to the point where I get the bends. The Halftime show (with the exception of Prince at SB XLI) is shoddy at best.

But on Super Bowl Sunday, for at least another 40 years, you will not see three more athletic and clutch plays than what you saw with:

James Harrison's record-breaking 100-yard pick-six with no time left in the 1st Half.

Arizona's Larry Fitzgerald's sprint to the end-zone to take the lead with 2:50to go in the game.

Pittsburgh's Santonio Holmes stretching and soaring horizontal for the winning TD-catch in the end zone.

There's nothing wrong for giving props.
