Cristie Kerr & Kwiat: Beauty, Brilliance & Benevolence
On an crisp Spring evening in midtown Manhattan, a small section of Madison Avenue sparkled.
Last night at 725 Madison Avenue, the flagship boutique of iconic New York jeweler Kwiat ... with its glass storefront and elegant platinum colored cove... hosted a glittering launch event for the amazing (translation: breathtakingly beautiful) jewelry collection born of the collaboration between the renowned jeweler and our country's number one woman golfer, Cristie Kerr.
The bustling event was held to introduce the Birdies for Breast Cancer Collection which features elegant diamond earrings and a matching pendant, all accented with pink sapphires and set in pink gold.
Having worked on a number of projects with Cristie, I know how dedicated she is to her charity, and how passionate she and her husband, Erik Stevens, are about New York... the city, its art and its culture.
Ten percent of every purchase of each item in the collection goes to Birdies for Breast Cancer where it will be put towards breast cancer research and awareness. The collection can be purchased at Kwiat galleries in New York City and Las Vegas.

The collection is so beautiful! I love pink sapphires, they're my favorite stone... next to diamonds of course. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see Cristie get her first 2010 win next week in AL!
ReplyDeleteCristie is our #1 and I may be wrong but I don't see her as the type who'll take early retirement. I see more of a Julie Inkster path for CK. That's what we're hoping anyway.
ReplyDeleteWe've got tickets to the US Women's Open this year and we'll be cheering for Cristie.
ReplyDeleteI recently read (Hound Dog LPGA blog) that Cristie Kerr has gone 70 tournaments without missing a cut. That's an impressive streak. I agree with Marco, I don't see Cristie "stepping away from golf" early either.
ReplyDeleteI just forwarded this to my hubby with a reminder that Mother's Day is coming up. ;)
ReplyDeleteCristie Kerr is our country's #1 player, she's as American as apple pie, and she's as beautiful as any of the other players. So why is she overlooked by the media? I think it has to do with the way she plays. I've watched her numerous times and she's got an intensity that none of the other Americans, Wie, Creamer, Pressel, Lincicomb have. She's in a zone. Basically, you get the impression that she doesn't see the gallery and you get the impression that she's not very happy even when she's doing quite well. She'll show her joy only when something is nearly perfect - not when it's just good or OK. Her disappointment however, is palpable.
ReplyDeleteMore than any other American player, her demeanor on the golf course reminds me of Tiger Woods. And as we've seen lately, not everyone likes that.
Also Cristie Kerr is never primping out there. She wears her clothes at least a full size larger and her skirts quite a bit longer than Wie or Creamer or many of the others. Next to them Kerr looks very plain, but then you see her dressed up off the golf course and realize she's as pretty or prettier than them. Suzanne Pettersen has a similar style of dressing and of playing and has also been criticized for not "sexing it up" and not smiling more.
All of that is probably part of our dilemma. We want our American golfers to be more competitive but at the same time we want them to be smiley and dressed sexy in competition. I'm not sure how easy that is to do.
Personally I hope Cristie Kerr continues to play with the same intensity. I think she's the best hope that we'll have a US "face of the LPGA" any time soon.
this looks like it was a fun event and it's so great to see Cristie Kerr so dedicated to supporting the Birdies for Breast Cancer Charity to find a cure for Breast Cancer. Bravo for her...
ReplyDeleteSo very gorgeous. The jewelry, Cristie, and her game!
ReplyDeleteCristie is such a pleasure to work with - everyone at Kwiat is very excited about the collection and being able to give to birdies for breast cancer! You can see all of the pictures from the event on on our fb page http://bit.ly/cfMf7B
