Monday Eclectic - Weekly Collection of Notable Links

Interesting, under-reported golf stories or well-written renderings of the most talked about events.

Innovative or unusual products... provocative people... inviting places. Once a week..or so, I'll link you up with my discoveries, here at Tuesday Saturday Monday Eclectic.

In case you didn't know it... because I sure didn't... irons can be really, really pretty. These, by Dbot5, certainly qualify.

Boorish guests at a UK golf course tore up the turf and trampled the greens.

Do you know what this stylish looking golf item is? Hint: it goes really well with an orange bikini.

Lot's of guys take golf trips to Ireland. Now ladies can take their own awesome trip with Red Tee. That tip comes via GolfGurls, which is itself a great resource for women golfers.

BTW - we are now into aerosol spray on "clothes" here in SOFLA which are fun to put (spray) on and don't need to be dry cleaned

  2. Fun irons and beach golf sounds great! Mixes two of my favorite things: the ocean & golf.

  4. Frank. You mean something akin to what we used to call Scotchguard that repeels dirt now also?? Court has something like that he sprays on to keep liberals away. :)

    ducks,

i don't know about scotchguard - but what i do know about the aerosol garment is you cannot have even a wisp of hair where you spray this "clothes" on your skin

BTW it was mentioned to me that this idea is not anything new - ancient roma had a small child dipped in gold-leaf paint and only the eyeballs went unpainted (however that did not end well as the child reportedly died of lead poisioning from the exposure ingested through skin pores)

  6. I'm up to speed now Frank. I can see many very uncomfortable and/or embarassing situations arsing out of this spray clothes situation.

I'd like to see a "dry run" though with maybe Christina Hendricks modeling it. :)

  7. Frank... It you've got a good eye. It was Ritz-Carlton Naples... a wonderful resort... and I loved playing Tiburon. I definitely hope to spend some time down there this winter... hopefully get over to ftLiquordale too. I saw the spray on clothes... they look awesome... and I understand you can actually wear them multiple times after they've ... um... set. Oh and Court re: Ireland... just not a typical destination for girlfriend golf trips. \(--)/

  8. Those irons are amazing looking. Together with the matching they'd be a great way to distract your opponents. ;)

    patricia,

FYI, that ritz-naples also has another related location about five miles directly west, which is right on the gulf

as for hotel-resort golf in SOFLA i would also recommend the miami-biltmore (coral gables) for its donald ross course, its gigantic swimming pool area, its historic buildings, its absolute timelessness and, of course, the best sunday champagne brunch

i sometimes sit in the grand ballroom, quietly, all by myself, and just absorb the whole place

    anyway be well

  10. That beach golf idea sounds great...I know I'd be up for a game, especially if the competition is wearing a bikini. Great idea!
