My friend Shane from Dogs that Chase Cars brought this funny video to my attention. Seriously though, I'm sure Tiger is receiving a warm welcome from his fellow players.
I just wonder how they really feel.
Update: Oh, and I just got this. Gotta ♥ Sam Jackson.
Thank you. I just heard today there even was a new Nike commercial and you have it already. It's great.
ReplyDeleteDid you ever notice if a pro has on a Nike shirt, there are never any other logos on it. (Unlike the bowling shirts Phil wears)
The expectations are huge. They're making it seem like the future of golf rests on one man's shoulders.
ReplyDeleteIt may.
ReplyDeleteJust remember this with knee injuries... it can take up to 18 months for a torn ligament to be fully healed, ask any NFL running back.
ReplyDeleteNot that Tiger will have to worry about an o-line making holes for him, but considering his kinetically powerful swing, it'll be interesting to see how the knee will fare.
What's clear - very clear - is that the PGA's television ratings have suffered as a result of Tiger's absence. There simply is not a player that commands the same sort of following.
ReplyDeleteSince revenues for TV rest of ratings, it is clear that the PGA wants to have their greatest asset on as often as possible, because with a larger audience, they get more revenue. With more revenue, there is more money to be distributed in prize money, and not just first place. So yes, it makes sense that the other pros like Tiger to be there, because he puts money in their pockets too, in the long run.
Secondly, a pro worth his salt wants to be the best, and obviously, to be the best you have to beat the best. Phil Mickelson, Padraig Harrington and Sergio Garcia are not the best. Tiger is. Reason #2 for the pros to want him back.
And Jeff, I think we have all see what Tiger can do on one knee already.
